Meet West Haven Optometrist, Dr. Robert P. Mingrone


Dr. Mingrone was born in West Haven, Connecticut in 1955. He graduated high school from Amity Regional High School in Woodbridge.  He attended the University of Connecticut and is a 1980 BSK Honor Society graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  He started optometric private practice in West Haven that year and opened his office in Huntington center in 2005.

He is dedicated to serving the community for all their eye care needs and is one of the first graduates of the Connecticut program “Advanced Optometric Care” for medical treatment of the eye, and specializes in contact lenses and computer eyestrain treatment, and has become very appreciated by his patients for his personalized care.

Dr. Mingrone has been active in a number of service clubs in the area including the West Haven Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of West Haven.  He is a past president of the Rotary Club of West Haven, past chairman of the West Haven Rotary Foundation, past Cubmaster for Pack 27 Cub Scouts, and is a past Scoutmaster for Troop 27 Boy Scouts.  He has lived in Shelton with his wife Margie since 1985, and they have four children.
